Description:

Our SoftLogix™ controllers use a common control engine with a common development environment to provide high performance in an easy-to-use environment. A typical SoftLogix system uses a virtual chassis application that houses controllers and communication modules, which interface with other Logix controllers and I/O modules. I/O simulator modules in the virtual chassis make application debugging and system start-up easier.……

1789 SoftLogix Controllers

Bulletin 1789 SoftLogix™ Controllers are based on the Logix platform. They seamlessly integrate machine control, motion control, and information processing. They take the control functions normally found in dedicated programmable controllers, encapsulate those functions in software and run them on a commercial operating system. The multi-tasking operating system supports 32 configurable tasks that you can prioritize.

Communications

Use Bulletin 1784 Communication Cards with your SoftLogix™ controllers to monitor and control I/O on ControlNet™ or DeviceNet™ networks. Use your own Ethernet card to communicate over EtherNet/IP™ networks. Use the built-in serial port on your SoftLogix controller to communicate over RS-232 serial networks. Install multiple communication interfaces into the SoftLogix PC to configure a gateway to bridge or route control and information data between different networks.
